Labor and Human Resources

Texas Highway, Heavy, Utilities and Industrial Branch provides a variety of services pertaining to labor and employment law, labor relations, and human resources on behalf of AGC members. These services include: information and advice on such matters as prevailing wages, labor contract wages and other terms, affirmative action, DBE, HUBS, personnel policies and practices; and government relations and lobbying activities. Texas Highway, Heavy, Utilities and Industrial Branch also publishes membership bulletins at least weekly; and special bulletins dealing with public affairs, safety issues, crime prevention, legislative matters, and other areas of industry interest.

Immigration Compliance:
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have recently increased enforcement efforts in the construction, hospitality, food processing and textile industries. In light of this development and given the heavy media attention on immigration, AGC of Texas has received several member inquiries regarding the Social Security Administration (SSA) mismatch letter and other issues related to immigration enforcement. read more

Davis Bacon Wage Rates:
Davis-Bacon wage rates are available through the chapter office. If you need Davis-Bacon wage information, contact Darlene Edge (phone: 512/478-4691, e-mail: dedge@agctx.org). This service will only be provided to Texas Highway, Heavy, Utilities and Industrial Branch members.

Please be prepared to identify your company name, county and type of construction (heavy, highway, utility, etc…) for which you need prevailing wage rates.
