Texas Highway, Heavy, Utilities and Industrial Branch is one of the oldest and largest trade associations in the nation, founded in 1924 as a Highway and Heavy Branch. The Texas Highway-Heavy Branch merged with the Texas Heavy, Municipal and Utilities Branch in 1983 uniting Texas contractors into one of the strongest and most progressive chapters in the construction industry. In addition to Associated General Contractors of America, the Texas Highway, Heavy, Utilities and Industrial Branch also has charters in Texas for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA). There are nearly 900 Texas Highway, Heavy, Utilities and Industrial Branch member firms across the state.
